July Full Moon – Fire Spell

As the full moon was approaching, I began to feel the energy shift within me from a more passive observer to full action.  It seems this year has been one of walking on eggshells and trying to both say the right thing and then do the thing that makes everyone less uncomfortable.  Is that even possible?  Probably not.  It seems like lately, I have been feeling the energy of what I would call my “younger self” bubble up and ask me why I have let my instincts become quiet.

So, leading up to the full moon, I decided to take a little time for myself every day.  I have been journaling and asking what I want in the next phase of my life.  And while some of the answers surprised me, what really stuck with me was the fear that I wouldn’t succeed. And from that fear, I was failing to plan. Where did that come from?  And, better yet, how do I get rid of that nonsense.

For the full moon, I decided to jump the gun and burn a couple of the yule wreaths that I had saved for Lammas.  I needed a full on and supported spell that would release my fears and call to my spirit guides to let them know, I was ready to start taking action.

As you can imagine, a Yule wreath is pretty dry by the time July rolls around…  This is a perfect fire spell tool attuned to you because of the time the wreath spent in your home and amongst your family.  Not to mention, I love the WHOOSH it makes when you throw it into the fire.  It seems dramatic and takes you out of the mellow trance that fire can lull you into by watching the dance of the flames.

I used three wreaths for this spell.  The first one I threw into the fire with a petition to release my fears and those limits I place on myself, and my successes. I watched the flames grow tall and imagined all of those fears being consumed by the burning fire.

Once that flame had returned to a normal burn, and I “felt” that freedom from the burdens we all carry, I prepared the second wreath with a petition to enhance my focus.  This was a desire to streamline my focus and to move me into action even if I don’t understand exactly how things will unfold.  Enough of the control freak that has become too scared to stay in the adventure as it is unfolding!

When the time came for the last wreath, I added a petition for what I want life to be like in this new phase, the passion, and the peace. The full knowledge and acceptance within myself to move toward my goals and feel good about the process as well.

Who knew a burn barrel fire that the hubby stared would end up being such a powerful space for this impromptu spell? Sometimes, you have to go with your instinct…and when the hubby calls you down to the creek to hang out by the fire, on a full moon be sure you grab some paper, a pen and a couple of those old Yule wreaths.

I hope the full moon was good to you and that you can find the energy you need, just when you need it! (((hugs)))

**the pictures are from the different phases of the spell.  I love to take the photos and then look at them later seeing what images pop up.  I have to say, I wasn’t disappointed!  What do you see?

79b124e7da006586554939ec66f68eedI like this guy, to the left…he seems to be almost dancing with his arms bent at the elbow.

Isn’t it funny how you can’t seem to see these until you luck out and capture the images in pictures?

Below is a great puff of smoke that happened after burning one of the wreaths.

Yep!  I have a vivid imagination!
